JacksonWX your
local weather station
JacksonWX was
originally located in Raritan, NJ under another website.
I being
the owner and moving to Jackson, NJ moved the station
with me.
JacksonWX's Station is located in the northeast
perimeter of
Jackson Township at a ground elevation of 100 feet above sea level.
I started the station in
Raritan
,NJ
in 1999 and moved it to
Jackson
in 2004.
Since it's inception and after
finding it's new home in Jackson New Jersey, JacksonWX
has become the leading Ocean and Monmouth County
Personal Weather Station's on the Internet. We would
like to thank all of our patrons for trusting in us to
bring you the most current and up to date weather
Information.
Station equipment being used is the Davis Weather Monitor II
(cabled version) using Virtual
weather Station software. We are also using a Boltek
Storm Tracker Lightning Detector, utilizing Astrogenic’s Nextstorm software.
This data is
collected via a computer and then sent on to Jacksonwx
and various other weather organizations. All of the weather
stations sensors are
placed on the north side of the station building at 8
feet above ground level. The
lightning detector's location is also on the north side of the building
at 20 feet above ground level.
The lightning detection unit will detect lightning well over
600 Nautical miles
away.
This station is part of a network of independent weather
stations. Most of which, provide some type of weather
information via the internet.
Our station has been certified and reports directly to
NOAA and NWS, especially during a disaster. We are a
Certified Homeland Security weather station and NIMS Certified. JacksonWX has become one
of the most popular and still independent weather stations Serving
it's local community. We also provide information to other reporting organizations.
